Eugenie's Estate - Vosne Romanée 2022
Domaine d'Eugénie was born from the purchase of Domaine René Engel by François Pinault in July 2006. It is located in Vosne-Romanée , in the heart of the Côte-de-Nuits between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Gevrey-Chambertin, in Burgundy . This village is considered the pearl of the great red wines of Burgundy. Since 2009, Domaine d'Eugénie has been located in the center of Vosne-Romanée in the former "Clos Frantin" which now bears the name of "Clos d'Eugénie" . Today, the Domaine is managed by Frédéric Engerer (manager of Château Latour) and a team of two experienced and versatile winegrowers. Significant work has been undertaken to develop a complete and efficient winemaking site: the vat room is made up of thermo-regulated wooden vats of different capacities to be able to carry out a strict and precise plot selection, reflecting the diversity and complexity of the terroirs. The Domaine produces six wines on 5 appellations and on an area of 6.51 hectares which extends over the communes of Vosne-Romanée, Vougeot and Flagey-Echezeaux. Since 2011, the entire estate has been cultivated using organic farming , certified since the 2020 vintage.
The Vosne-Romanée Village cuvée is the result of blending two plots: "Les Communes" and "Les Vigneux" in the lower part of the hillside on clayey limestone soils on alluvium. The average age of the vines varies between 30 and 50 years.
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir
