Château LAFITE ROTHSCHILD 1965

Château Lafite-Rothschild , one of the undeniable jewels of Bordeaux, has an exceptional terroir of fine and deep gravel on a limestone base, to the north of the appellation. The 112 hectares of vines are largely dominated by cabernet-sauvignon (70%), associated with merlot (25%), cabernet franc and petit verdot. The estate practices a very strict selection, with more than 50% of the harvest often excluded from the great wine.

The 1er Cru Classé signs its vintages with a tight but beautifully velvety tannic structure, and a subtle expression, tinged with cedar and graphite. As for its future potential in the cellar, it is breathtaking!

Since 1868, the castle has belonged to Domaines Barons de Rothschild. At the beginning of 2018, Eric de Rothschild passed the baton to his daughter, Saskia de Rothschild, and entrusted the management of the property to Jean-Guillaume Prats
