The Castello Di Ama estate is located near the villages of Radda and Gaiole in the Chianti region. The vineyards are located at an altitude that varies between 450 and 480 meters and the nature of the soil is mainly clay-limestone. At the end of the 80s, the field decided to study more particularly two Sangiovese clones which systematically produced the best results and to propagate them by mass selection. These low productivity clones with very tight bunches and small grains were more resistant to botrytism and matured later, giving the Chianti Classico de Ama an increased elegance and finesse which is now the hallmark of the Chianti Classico de Castello. di Ama.
