This is a little-known region of the Libournais, located 50 km from Bordeaux on one side, 40 km from Bergerac on the other, adjoining the famous Saint-Émilion appellation. When we know that François Thienpont and Stéphane Derenoncourt have selected the plots one by one to develop this range of wines, we already know that we will not be disappointed, and when we see critics from France and elsewhere in rapture on this cuvée, no hesitation, we had to taste.
In the glass, the color of the dress is very strong, oscillating between ruby and topaz, and of a beautiful depth. We expect La Violette du Manoir 2010 to be concentrated. And the nose confirms! The presence of very ripe red fruits, blackcurrant, and in the background, a beautiful aromatic framework on liquorice and flowers ... Everything leads us to think that this cuvée will keep its promises. The palate remains in the same vein: tight and already patinated tannins, the smoothness of a very enveloping, generous and gourmet material ... A real happiness, a wine that is easily seated at the table now with a dish that has the answer, a Caribbean duck for example, or for purists, a nice piece of red meat!
All the spirits offered are in stock and also available in our store at 3 rue Lucien Faure in BORDEAUX - Line stop B/7/32 Cité du vin
