Domaine MICHEL MAGNIEN - Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru - Biodynamics 2015
In Burgundian dialect, "charms" refers to old common fields cultivated and turned fallow. Or wasteland covered with charms wood. The iron ore contained in the ground was once shipped to Langres to be processed for the manufacture of knives. This climate preserves, it seems, the oldest vine of the town planted in 1881.
Installed on limestone outcrops covered with shallow soils and red in color. There are marls, iron and many pebbles, some of which are of good size. The rocky subsoil is very resistant but well cracked, which allows the roots of the vine to plunge deeply into it, hence their astonishing longevity. Some plots can be up to 100 years old.
All the spirits offered are in stock and also available in our store at 3 rue Lucien Faure in BORDEAUX - Line stop B/7/32 Cité du vin
