CHATEAU MARGAUX 1990

Margaux

Owned by Edward III of England, from the family of Albret then Montferrand, the estate retains a military vocation until 1802, when the Marquis de La Clonilla had the fortress shaved and built the house that one can see today. Until the early sixties, the wines were often excellent, sometimes grandiose. As such, the mythical 1900 is one of the most renowned nectars of the century. Between 1963 and 1977, the property experienced a difficult period, without investment, where the quality of the wine is felt. With the arrival of the Mentzelopoulos family, and thanks to the talents of Emile Peynaud, the wines have regained their level of 1st Grand Cru Classé. 1978 marks the beginning of a succession of grandiose vintages. Château Margaux has a single vineyard, largely based on gravelly soil, sometimes clayey, with a high proportion of limestone. The wines are characterized by a dark color and captivating and complex aromas of cassis, cherry and violet. Recent vintages have a great aging potential. A rarity in the Médoc, the estate also produces a superb fruity and powerful white wine.
All the spirits offered are in stock and also available in our store at 3 rue Lucien Faure in BORDEAUX - Line stop B/7/32 Cité du vin
