VEGA SICILIA - PINTIA  2004

Pintia de Vega Sicilia was created in 1995 by the Álvarez family, owner of Vega Sicilia, star of the Ribera del Duero. His willingness to explore the Toro terroirs, downstream of the Duero, has come to fruition with the purchase of a vast vineyard planted with Tinta de Toro vines aged 25 to 60 years. It took four years to restore this heritage of old vines, which make the whole character of Pintia wines. In accordance with the philosophy of Vega Sicilia, merciless sorting only holds the grapes of perfect maturity and the wines enjoy a long aging. The first vintage, 2001, was launched in 2004. Since then, the winery has had a modern winery. The farms are aged in new barrels for 13 months and the wines wait 24 months in the bottle. The wines of Pintia restore the fullness and power of the greatest Toro with a rich material, ripe and chocolate aromas and fleshy and perfectly integrated tannins.
