Domaine Jean Louis CHAVE - HERMITAGE 1999

Hermitage: flawless for many years, they have reached a level of perfection that commands admiration. Since 1481, the Chave family reigns supreme over the terroirs of the Hermitage. Yesterday Gérard, vigneron-peasant, in the most noble sense; today Jean-Louis. Undoubtedly the finest visionaries and observers of the Hermitage and beyond, the French vineyard in general. Jean-Louis Chave brings all his know-how by completely overhauling the vision of the vineyard, each plot resembling a small Japanese garden pulled with the line. While opening to other terroirs, such as the Florentin, fabulous fenced planted very old vines in the heart of Mauves, which celebrated its first production in 2009. In the cellar, the Chaves bring to the highest the different terroirs of the region. Hermitage, working on the complementarity of assemblies. Here no plot or "super cuvées", rather the faithful reflection of this magical hill. The red hermitage comes from the best "quarters" of Beaume, the Hermit, and reflects the strength of the Bessards. The perfect mastery of maturities, such as the touch of aging in barrels, provide great moments of tasting.

In this type of vintage that is 1999 that allows both to obtain beautiful maturity and freshness, Hermitage can only be magnified. A big, a very great wine!
