OLD BROTHERS - Aged rum - Bielle - Brut de cas ex Bourbon - 8 years - 53.6%
Bielle is located on the island of Marie Galante, also called the island of 100 mills. The history of Bielle goes back to 1769 when Jean-Pierre Bielle then cultivated coffee there, his sons then joined forces in 1826 to create a refinery-sugar refinery of 53ha. The production of rum at the estate began at the beginning of the 20th century and the property passed from hand to hand, in 1935 Félix Bicoto built what is today the main residence. Following the Second World War, the property was abandoned and was bought by Paul Rameaux in 1956 but remained as it was until his little nephew Dominique Thierry, then a young engineer, was entrusted with the responsibility of the Société d'Exploitation de la Distillerie Bielle (SEDB). In 40 years, the distillery has become one of the most renowned in the Antilles. The sugar cane comes from the estate and from small local producers, some of whom still use the cabrouet (ox cart) to transport the cane. At the distillery, 2 mills will make it possible to obtain the cane juice which will be fermented for 48 hours for before being distilled by the 3 Savalle columns in stainless steel then bottled at the historic 59 ° degree or aging in the cellars.
