RHUM BALLY - Rhum vieux - Millésime 1929 - 41,5%
J. Bally is located in Carbet, Martinique, not far from the Pelée mountain. The origins of J. Bally date back to 1917 when Jacques Bally bought a sugar company then in ruins, the Lajus home (whose creation dates back to the 1670s). A true visionary, this young engineer from the École Centrale de Paris then equipped him with a steam engine and a Creole column of his own, inspired by the processes of making fine alcohols like Cognac. He became one of the pioneers of aging techniques in agricultural rums. In order to strengthen his brand, he decided to offer a strong identity to his production, which went through a bottle with a unique design, first in the shape of a pyramid and then in the shape of a square. Today, Saint-James distills Bally rum.
This bottle of Bally 1929 rum was purchased in 2019 directly from the Bally distillery. In fact, in the store of the house there are still a few bottles of the house's first vintage rums. The bottle is presented in a wooden box.
