NEISSON RUM - Aged Rum - The XO by Neisson - 48.5%

Neisson was born during the interwar period in 1931 when the brothers Adrien and Hildebert Pamphile, known as Jean Neisson, bought the La Thieulbert house, which was then provided with 20 ha of plantations. It is located in the northwest of the island, not far from Saint-Pierre, at the foot of Mount Pelée and the older brother Adrien then undertakes to set up a small distillery while his youngest, Jean Neisson finishes his studies at Paris. While the eldest produced the rums in Martinique, the youngest set up an import-export company following his studies and then began to market the rums in Paris. He is however passionate about production and will put his years of study to good use by ordering for the distillery a Savalle column modified according to his instructions in order to improve the quality of his rums. Today, it is still the Neisson family who is at the head of the family distillery (one of the last in Martinique) and the house continues to exclusively supply canes from its own 40 hectares of canes.

Neisson has just celebrated his 85th birthday! To celebrate, this legendary distillery has released new Batch this year including this 48.5% bottled Neisson XO. Aged entirely in French oak and Bourbon (American Whiskey) barrels, this agricultural rum is made from aged rums between 9 and 12 years old.
