The Neisson Distillery, located in the heart of Carbet in Martinique, is a true institution of agricole rum since its creation in 1932 by the pioneers, the Neisson brothers. Jean Neisson, a chemical engineer, dedicated his life to perfecting traditional distillation methods, combining ancestral know-how and technical innovation. Today, this precious heritage is passionately carried on by his descendants Claudine and especially his son Grégory, who continue the family excellence.
Committed to a strong eco-responsible approach, the distillery began in 2013 a major transition towards certified organic farming, a symbol of deep respect for nature and premium quality. From 2016, they proudly launched the first organic AOC Martinique rum, a reference recognized by enthusiasts and connoisseurs. More than 40 hectares of carefully cultivated land now evolve according to these sustainable practices respectful of local biodiversity.
The result of years of rigorous research, Neisson today masters the exclusive use of its own strains of indigenous yeasts, carefully selected among those naturally present on the sugar canes of the estate. This unique process guarantees natural fermentation, bringing finesse, aromatic complexity, and authenticity to each batch.
Clos des Spiritueux also favors a reasoned choice of crop varieties adapted to each specific plot, to optimize the organoleptic characteristics of the canes. Controlled irrigation management promotes essential water savings for resource preservation, while an efficient effluent treatment system ensures the environmental neutrality of the site.
