Domaine de Villaine - Côte Chalonnaise - La Fortune 2019

Domaine de Villaine is located in Bouzeron, north of the Côte-Chalonnaise in Burgundy. The estate was bought by Aubert and Pamela de Villaine in 1971, and has been managed since 2001 by their nephew, Pierre de Benoist. Since 1986, organic farming methods have been developed within the vineyard. The estate has several ‘climats’ in the communes of Bouzeron, Rully, Mercurey and Santenay which are planted with Aligoté, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

La Fortune comes from the lieu-dit called La Fortune, neighbour of La Digoine. The vines being younger, Le Fortune is a very fruity wine but more tender than La Digoine. It is recommended to drink it within 2 to 3 years after bottling.
