DOMAINE DE TREVALLON 2011
Domaine Trévallon is located in the town of Saint-Etienne-du-Grès, on the northern slope of the Alpilles in Provence. The property extends over 17 hectares, made up of vines, scrubland, holm oaks, olive trees and almond trees. In 1950, Jacqueline and René Dürrbach bought Mas Chabert and in 1960, the adjoining property: Trévallon. Eloi Dürrbach planted the first vines in 1973, and has been managing the vineyard with Floriane for over thirty years. The emblematic bottle labels are the work of René Dürrbach, painter and sculptor and friends of many painters, including Pablo Picasso. The vineyard has been certified in organic farming since 2007.
Trévallon Red is a blend of equal parts Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vinification is carried out without destemming, without yeasting and without sulfur. Aging lasts 24 months in foudres with racking limited to the strict minimum and contact with the lees which nourish the wine throughout this period.
