Distillerie du Petit Grain - Gin Collection of Bigarades
The Distillerie du Petit Grain is located in Saint-Jean de Minervois, in Hérault . The micro-distillery was created in the heart of the village by Patricia and Laurent Gaspard . They produce fresh, pure and fragrant eaux-de-vie with their still made in the workshops of Jean-Louis Stupfler, whose work is renowned for being present in the most demanding French and foreign distilleries. It is an open-fire copper still , which requires delicate handling, but allows precise heating and promotes the development of aromas.
The couple chose fruits from organic farming , healthy and at their optimal maturity. Their philosophy is based on respect for the terroirs, tradition and seasons, the apricots are pitted by hand, the marc is destemmed, no operation is mechanized. The distillates are not subject to any filtration, the distillation heads and tails are kept aside in order to keep only the heating cores, which give low yields.
The Bigarades Gin Collection is made from a selection of three varieties of Bigarades, also called bitter oranges .
