Domaine des Closiers - Libere 2019
Domaine des Closiers is located in Parnay, in the heart of the Saumur Champigny appellation, in the Loire Valley. The "closiers" were the winegrowers who worked in the vineyards and who lived in the troglodyte dwellings at the foot of the hill. The estate extends over 15 hectares on clay-limestone soil with vines with an average age of 35 years. The estate has been developed for 5 generations and is today managed by Anatole de La Brosse with Pierre Derouin as Operations Manager and Loïc Yven. The vineyard obtained the High Environmental Value (HVE 3) label in 2017 thanks to the attention paid to the development of biodiversity. The estate has also begun its conversion to organic farming with the assistance of Michel Chevré, technical consultant for the estate and operator of the Clos de l'Écotard.
