Berry Bros & Rudd - GLENTURRET - Radh Maor - 8 ans - Millésime 2012 - Peated - 63.10%
Berry Bros. & Rudd is Britain's oldest wine and spirits merchant, trading in the same store since 1698. Today the company also has offices in Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong, a wine school and an exclusive venue for exceptional food and wine in London.
The Glenturret Distillery is located in the Highlands of Scotland. It was officially established in 1763, but had previously been under the control of illicit distillers, who sought to avoid paying taxes, since 1717. This early history has led to claims that Glenturret is the oldest distillery in Scotland, a title contested by other establishments. The First World War saw the closure of the distillery, but following the war it reopened under the Mitchell Brothers until 1921, when the great depression and prohibition in America saw it closed again. It did not reopen again to production until 1957 when it was revitalised by James Fairlie. The distillery was bought by different big companies until it was acquired by the Lalique Group in 2018.
This edition was bottled exclusively for La Maison du Whisky by Berry Bros. It was distilled at Glenturret in 2012 and aged in a single butt (#468). 698 bottles have been produced.
