Domaine Vincent Girardin - Beaune 1er Cru Les Aigrots 2017
Domaine Vincent Girardin is located in Meursault, in the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy. In 1980, at the age of 19, Vincent Girardin, from a wine-growing family in Santenay since the 17th century, wanted to gain independence and started with the two hectares of vines inherited from his parents. Very quickly, the quality of its wines was recognised worldwide and allowed him to expand his activity by focusing mainly on the great whites and reds of the Côte de Beaune (Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Santenay , Savigny-Lès-Beaune, Aloxe-Corton, Volnay and Pommard). In 2012, Vincent Girardin sold his activity to a historic partner of the House: Mr. Nié, President of the Compagnie des Vins d'Autrefois in Beaune.
The Beaune Premier Cru Les Aigrots comes from Pinot Noir vines of around 40 years old, located to the north-west of the commune of Beaune. After light crushing and destemming, the grapes are placed in stainless steel vats. A cold maceration lasts a few days before fermentation, during which punching down and pumping over are carried out. Aging lasts 15 months in barrels, 30% of which are new. One month before bottling, the wine from the different barrels is assembled in vats. Bottling is done according to the lunar calendar.
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir
