The Domaine des Closiers is located in Parnay, in the heart of the Saumur Champigny appellation, in the Loire Valley . The "closiers" were the winegrowers who worked in the vineyards and who lived in the troglodyte dwellings at the foot of the hill. The estate extends over 15 hectares on clay-limestone soil with vines whose average age is 35 years. The estate has been developed for 5 generations and is now managed by Anatole de La Brosse with Pierre Derouin as Operations Manager and Loïc Yven . The vineyard obtained the High Environmental Value label (HVE 3) in 2017 thanks to the attention paid to the development of biodiversity. The estate has also begun its conversion to organic farming with the assistance of Michel Chevré, the estate's technical consultant and operator of the Clos de l'Écotard.
The Libere cuvée is produced from a small plot of 30 ares of Chardonnay . The grapes are harvested by hand and then pressed before being sung by gravity in Burgundy barrels of 2 wines for fermentation. The aging lasts about 10 months with micro-oxygenation.
Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay
