BOLOGNE - XO - Exceptional Aged Rum - 42%
The Bologne Distillery, located in Guadeloupe, has been a recognized institution in the rum world since 1887. Its name comes from the former owners of the sugar plantation established on the fertile lands of the majestic La Soufrière volcano. The Bologne family, of Protestant origin, migrated to Holland during the religious wars before settling in Brazil in 1580, then a Dutch colony, where they expertly cultivated sugar cane. Expelled from Brazil and then Martinique, the Bologne family arrived in Guadeloupe in 1654, bringing with them an ancestral tradition of cultivation and distillation. The Bologne sugar plantation has experienced ups and downs over the centuries, in harmony with the turbulent history and repercussions of the French Revolution. It was under the visionary leadership of Louis Sargenton-Callarden in the 1930s that the plantation specialized in producing exceptional Agricultural Rum, highlighting local agricultural richness and artisanal know-how.
The BOLOGNE XO is a prestigious blend of aged rums matured in oak barrels for 6 to 10 years, revealing powerful and elegant notes, combining roundness and aromatic complexity. This exceptional aged rum embodies Guadeloupe's unique expertise and appeals to connoisseurs seeking an authentic and refined tasting experience.
