Cognac Delamain is located in Jarnac, in Grande Champagne in Cognac . In 1759, James Delamain, an Irishman, set up as a merchant in Cognac. In 1824, his grandson Henri Delamain founded Maison Delamain. Over the generations, the successive owners have infused their Cognac with a part of themselves because in addition to directing the House, they were at the same time archaeologist, ornithologist, historian, writer, humanist, botanist. This openness to the natural and human sciences has contributed to revealing these exceptional Cognacs. For more than 20 years, the Bollinger family joined Maison Delamain, today they chair the company. The eaux-de-vie are entrusted to the good care of Dominique Touteau , the Cellar Master.
Pléiade brings together the best Cognacs from Delamain. Coming from a single harvest, or from a single vineyard, and from a single barrel, but also slowly reduced, without added sweeteners or coloring, these Cognacs are offered in their purest expression. Produced in a limited series, Pléiade is made up of 3 collections, defined by their age.
This edition is part of the Plénitude collection . This Cognac Grande Champagne comes from a single cask ( #250-2) which produced 355 bottles . The distillation took place on fine lees in 1991 , then the Cognac was aged in red oak barrels of 350 liters. It was bottled in February 2021.
