Domaine Michel Redde - La Moynerie 2020
Domaine Michel Redde & Fils is located in Saint-Andelain, in the Pouilly-Fumé appellation in the Loire Valley . The Redde family has been working the vines since 1630. In the early 1950s, Michel Redde and his wife Simone bought, cleared and planted vines to enlarge the family property. In 1977, Thierry Redde, their son, joined his parents to bring his new ideas, and decided in 2001 to expand the cellar on three levels to vinify by gravity. In 2003 and 2005, Sébastien and Romain, Thierry's sons took part in the family adventure and perpetuated the traditional style of the estate, while adopting new working methods. The philosophy of the estate is to transcribe the best expression of the grape variety, the terroir and the vintage. Today, the vineyard cultivated in sustainable agriculture extends over 42 hectares, in the Pouilly-sur-Loire and Pouilly-Fumé appellations.
La Moynerie is made from Sauvignon Blanc whose vines are around 25 years old. The vines are cultivated on soils whose geology is different: Kimmeridgian marls, flint and limestone. Vinification and aging are carried out in stainless steel vats .
Grape variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
