RHUM HSE - XO - 43%
Clos des Spiritueux presents an exceptional rum from the Habitation Saint Etienne, formerly known as Habitation La Maugée, founded in 1863. Originally an iconic Martinican sugar factory, it was transformed into a distillery in 1882 by Amédée Aubery, a visionary and young industrial captain. He modernized the facilities and used the natural power of the Lézarde river to supply energy to the estate, a precious resource that is still used today to carefully dilute the sugarcane juices.
In 1994, after judicial recovery, Yves and José Hayot took over this historic property, carrying out significant renovation work to preserve its unique heritage. Thus, the estate was classified as a Historic Monument, guaranteeing the conservation of its authenticity and traditional know-how. Saint-Etienne rum is distilled in a traditional Creole copper column, made by the renowned Distillerie du Simon located in François, Martinique.
This XO rum Clos des Spiritueux is the result of a rigorous selection of the oldest vintages from the Habitation, dating back to 1960, offering a rich, complex, and remarkably refined tasting experience.
