Domaine Jean Teiller - Menetou Salon Rouge 2022
Domaine Jean Teiller is located in Menetou-Salon , in the Loire Valley. It is a family farm created in the 1950s by Léon Millet. In 1986, their son Jean-Jacques , after having worked as a cook, and his wife Monique , joined in this adventure. In 2003, their daughter Patricia and her husband Olivier joined them. The estate extends over an area of 18 hectares, and is located on the best slopes of the communes of Menetou-Salon, Parassy, Aubinges and Vignoux-sous-les-Aix. The entire estate has been certified organic since 2017, with biodynamic certification since 2022.
Menetou-Salon Rouge is made from Pinot Noir grown on a 5-hectare plot, including the 2-hectare Clos des Treilles planted at the end of the 1970s. After the manual harvest, the harvest is destemmed and sorted, then put in pre-fermentation cold maceration for 4 to 6 days. The alcoholic fermentation begins spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, vatting lasts 15 to 20 days with some pumping over, punching down and racking. Aging lasts 6 months in vats (95%) and in barrels (5%).
