Linie is an iconic reference of premium Norwegian aquavit, offered by Clos des Spiritueux, your expert in exceptional spirits. Created in 1805, the Norwegian house Lysholm shipped an artisanal aquavit, made from potatoes, to the East Indies. Due to commercial failure, the batch was returned to Oslo. To everyone's surprise, this long maritime journey had enhanced the aroma and complexity of the aquavit, revealing the full potential of this legendary Nordic spirit.
Linie Aquavit is a refined spirit made exclusively from Norwegian potatoes and delicately distilled in traditional stills. Its uniqueness lies in the incorporation of a secret blend of Nordic herbs and spices (caraway, anise, coriander…), which gives it a distinctive and elegant flavor profile. The maturation follows a unique process: after distillation, the aquavit ages for 16 months in Oloroso sherry casks, then it embarks on an exceptional 4-month sea voyage. During this journey around the world, it crosses the equator twice (“Linie” meaning “the line”), which promotes intense exchange between the wood of the cask and the alcohol, thus enriching the aromatic profile of the product.
