Domaine Vacheron - Sancerre Rosé 2022
Domaine Vacheron is located in Sancerre , in the Loire Valley. The family property, created by Maurice Vacheron in the early 1900s, is today operated by cousins from the third generation of winemakers, Jean-Laurent and Jean-Dominique Vacheron . Since 2004, the 48-hectare estate has been run using certified biodynamics . This move to biodynamic practices was made to allow the distinct terroirs of Sancerre to be highlighted in the wines; Domaine Vacheron is planted on flinty soils, based on clay-limestone, topped with flint. In the vineyard, everything is harvested by hand and the only fertilizer allowed is compost. In the winery, vats are the main fermentation vessel, while a minimal amount of oak is used on some plots.
Sancerre Rosé comes from plots of Pinot Noir cultivated on flint and marl terroirs.
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir
