Château DUHART MILON ROTHSCHILD 1993
Château Duhart-Milon (formerly known as Duhart-Milon-Rothschild) is located in Pauillac , in the Bordeaux wine region. It was classified 4th Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification. The property belongs to its illustrious neighbor Lafite Rothschild and shares the management of the vineyard and the winemaking teams. The cellar buildings were completely renovated in 2003 and vinification takes place in vats dedicated to specific plots. The 76 hectare vineyard is located on a terroir of fine gravel and sand on limestone.
Duhart-Milon is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot . The grapes are vinified in concrete or stainless steel vats depending on their origin. Gentle pumping over is carried out during fermentation to optimize extraction. Maceration lasts approximately 20 days. The wine is then assembled and transferred to oak barrels, 50% of which are new . After the malolactic conversion, the wines are transferred to French oak barrels produced by the Tonnellerie des Domaines in Pauillac.
