Domaine Stéphane Ogier is located in Ampuis, in Côte-Rôtie , in the north of the Rhône Valley. The farm has existed for 7 generations, and Stéphane Ogier joined the family estate in 1997. By taking over from his father Michel, he chose to do precise work on his different terroirs in order to reveal the unique character of these places filled with history. From his experience in Burgundy, Stéphane Ogier retains the taste for elegance and finesse, which has become characteristic of his wines. Each year, the winemaker works to vinify the plots separately, to bring out the best of their potential. The blends are adjusted according to the vintages. When the estate began vinifying its own grapes, it had around 3 hectares of vines. From the end of the 1990s, new vineyards were planted or purchased, notably several in new localities in Côte-Rôtie and a small vineyard of 1.2 ha in Condrieu. Today, the vineyard covers more than 15 hectares, 8 of which are in the Côte-Rotie appellation. He also created a small trading company which supplies the fruits of the Le Temps Est Venu vintage in the Côtes du Rhône appellation.
La Rosine is made from Syrah whose vines vary from 20 to 30 years old. They are located on a south-east facing slope in the commune of Tupin and Semons which adjoin the Côte-Rôtie appellation. The wine is aged for 12 months in Burgundy barrels .
