Domaine de Villaine - Bouzeron - Aligoté 2022

Domaine de Villaine is located in Bouzeron , in the north of Côte-Chalonnaise in Burgundy . The estate was purchased by Aubert and Pamela de Villaine in 1971, and has been managed since 2001 by their nephew, Pierre de Benoist . Since 1986, organic farming methods have been developed within the vineyard. The estate has several climats in the communes of Bouzeron, Rully, Mercurey and Santenay which are planted with Aligoté, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Bouzeron Aligoté is made from Aligoté Doré vines located on the best slopes of the appellation. Picked and sorted by hand, the grapes are placed in whole bunches on the press. Pneumatic pressing is slow and gentle in order to obtain clear juices without astringency. The musts ferment in oak barrels, vats and tuns at a controlled temperature to maintain the freshness of the grape variety.
