Dewar's is a brand of Scottish blended whisky . It was founded by John Dewar, Sr. in 1846. Under the control of his two sons, the brand grew to become a world market leader. Dewar's pioneered the process consisting of “marrying” whisky in oak casks to allow the blend to age as a single blend in the casks. Once the blend is created, the whisky is returned to an oak cask and aged further to achieve a smooth finish. but robust.
