Domaine Vacheron - Sancerre Rosé 2023
Domaine Vacheron is located in Sancerre , in the Loire Valley. The family estate, started by Maurice Vacheron in the early 1900s, is now run by third-generation winemaking cousins Jean-Laurent and Jean-Dominique Vacheron . Since 2004, the 48-hectare estate has been farmed using certified biodynamic methods . This shift to biodynamic practices was made to allow the distinct terroirs of Sancerre to be showcased in the wines; Domaine Vacheron is planted on flint-rich, clay-limestone soils topped with flint. In the vineyard, everything is hand-harvested and the only fertilizer permitted is compost. In the winery, vats are the primary fermentation vessel, while a minimal amount of oak is used on some plots.
Sancerre Rosé comes from plots of Pinot Noir grown on flint and marl soils.
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir
