Mas del Périé - Fabien Jouves - Les Escures 2023

Fabien Jouves comes from an old farming family from the Causse. He became a winemaker in 2006 by creating the Mas del Périé on the highest hillsides of Cahors . Here, Malbec (also called Côt) is the grape variety of choice. Due to the location of the estate at the junction of the terroirs of the Quercy hillsides and those of Cahors, plot selection was an obvious choice for Fabien to express the different facets of Malbec. This expression of the terroir is reinforced by certified biodynamic agriculture since 2011, respectful of life, the plant, Man and his environment. The vinification of the grapes in the cellar is done naturally, without oenological inputs, and the wine is accompanied until its maturity, in concrete vats, barrels and tuns according to its personality.

Les Escures comes from 25-year-old Malbec vines. After manual harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and vatted for 30 days in cement vats. The aging lasts 6 months in concrete vats .
