The history of Maison Vincent Girardin is fairly recent. In 1980, at the age of 19, Vincent Girardin, from a wine-growing family in Santenay since the 17th century, wanted to stand on his own feet and started with the two hectares of vines inherited from his parents. Very quickly, the quality of its wines was recognized worldwide and allowed it to expand its activity by focusing mainly on the great whites and reds of the Côte de Beaune.
All the Grands Vins Girardin come from vines cultivated according to the precepts of sustainable cultivation.
Pinot Noir is the only variety used for this Maranges. Manual harvesting is preferred. Aging takes place in barrels, 15% of which come from new wood, for 12 to 14 months. This duration corresponds to the time necessary for the malolactic fermentation. Finally, the wine from the different barrels is assembled in vats for a period of one more month.
The Maranges rouge 1er cru La Fussiere is a wine that reflects its terroir. At the tasting, make way for a palette of red fruits exhaling their exquisite fragrance. The well-marked tannins confer a beautiful combination of sweetness and power. L
