CARONI 22 years - Aged rum - Vintage 1996 - John D. Employees 1st Rel - 66.50%

The famous Caroni distillery is founded in 1918 in the state of Trinidad (Trinidad) & Tobago. This state distillery then owns its own sugar refinery to ensure its supply of raw material, high quality sugar canes produced on site. Highly equipped with different types of stills (columns and iron), this legendary distillery has long remained "secret" and "mystical". Indeed, few of their rums have been bottled under their own label. Their eaux-de-vie have a very unique aromatic profile with fragrances of hydrocarbons, sweet spices and honey. Unfortunately, the government decided to close the distillery in 2002 following a crisis in the sugar industry. As a result, their scarcity has risen sharply, making these rums so atypical in a mythical dimension.

This 22-year-old Caroni aged rum 1996 Employees 1st Release John D. is a rarity and belongs to the "employees" collection which is made available to us by Velier. This collection is a tribute to the staff of the legendary Caroni distillery. Bottled to the natural degree, this bottle is named John D Eversley, a former employee specializing in the manufacture of heavy rums heavy rums. We find of course this racy olfactory signature of Caroni through subtle hydrocarbon notes ...
