The bottling company Old Brothers is born from a beautiful story of friendship between Anthony Martins and Julien Leroux. The two friends traveled the world together in the Army and decided to join forces in their common passion: spirits. Researchers of works of art and small treasures from the mystical art of distillation, they put within our reach the finest spirits they find. Old Brothers bottles are therefore numbered by hand.

Bielle is located on the island of Marie Galante, also called the island of 100 mills. The story of Bielle goes back to 1769 when Jean-Pierre Bielle then cultivates the coffee, his sons will then associate in 1826 to create a refinery-candy of 53ha. The production of rum at the estate will begin in the early twentieth century and ownership passes hands in hand, in 1935 Felix Bicoto built what is now the main home. Following the Second World War, the property is abandoned and will be bought by Paul Rameaux in 1956 but remains in the state until his little nephew Dominique Thierry, then young engineer, is entrusted with the responsibility of the Distillery Bielle Holding Company (SEDB). In 40 years, the distillery has become one of the most famous in the West Indies. The sugar cane comes from the estate and small local producers, some of whom still use the cabrouet (beef cart) to transport canes. At the distillery, 2 mills will make it possible to obtain the cane juice that will be fermented for 48 hours before being distilled by the 3 Savalle stainless steel columns and then bottled to the historical degree 59 ° or aged in the cellars.

73.4 is the 3rd largest column of the Bielle distillery that Old Brothers has bottled for our pleasure and 73.4% pure alcohol. This white rum did not undergo any reduction by adding water following its distillation in March 2018, only a rest of 10 months in vats was done. A marvel made of 100% gray cane in which we can feel all the know-how of Bielle and the expression of its original terroir. 73.4 ° has however been produced in a very limited edition of 785 copies including the Clos des Millésimes and happy to be able to offer for sale.
