Domaine Jules Desjourneys - Moulin à vent 2009
After having founded and run a company specialised in the distribution of wines from Burgundy, Fabien Duperray decided then to engage in a new adventure: become a winemaker. The 4,5 hectares of Domaine Jules Desjourneys are located in La-Chapelle-de-Guinchay and is manually cultivated in accordance with biodynamics principles.
He acquired old vines terroirs back in 2007 and created the Domaine Jules Desjourneys, which has been producing excellent Beaujolais wines since then, worthy of the best Grands Crus. And to produce such high-quality wines, he chose to engage his production into biodynamics. Year after year, he has been sharpening his approach, experiencing several things, questioning his very own practices and his decisions as well. He does seem to have found his way now and his cuvées definitely stand out on the Beaujolais market.
Moulin-a-Vent is arguably the most noteworthy of the ten Beaujolais crus, located in the very north of the Beaujolais region. Moulin-a-Vent wines, made from the Gamay grape variety, are known for being some of the most concentrated and tannic made in Beaujolais.
Grape variety: 100% Gamay
