Château Thivin - Les Griottes de Brulhié 2019
Château Thivin is located in Mont-Brouilly, in Beaujolais. It belongs to the Geoffray family which has produced wines for 6 generations. Zaccharie and Marguerite Geoffray bought on June 8, 1877 Château Thivin and its two hectares of vines around the estate. Each succeeding generation has brought new plots to the construction of the estate and brought about changes in cultivation and winemaking methods. The estate's vines are mainly located on the Crus Côte de Brouilly and Brouilly, but the family also produces white, rosé and sparkling Beaujolais cuvées. The family is constantly seeking to optimise cultivation practices, to ensure a perfect balance of the vineyard ecosystem with healthy vines and grapes of optimal quality.
Les Griottes de Brulhié is made from Gamay Noir mostly with a few Chardonnay grapes (1 to 2%) which bring finesse. The harvest comes from an entirely manual harvest and vinified partly in whole bunches by gravity in order to use neither pump nor conveyor for the harvest. After pressing, aging lasts 7 to 9 months in oak foudre.
Grape variety: 100% Gamay
