Père Labat - Millésime 2004 - 45%
Père Labat is a brand of rums from the island of Marie-Galante. The history of the distillery dates back to the 18th century when Madame Poisson acquired the estate, then a simple sugar refinery on the island of Marie-Galante. At the beginning of the 20th century, Monsieur Rameau, who had become the owner of the estate, made improvements and invested in a copper still and a Creole column made of red copper. These investments then move the Domaine Poisson from sugar refinery to distillery. He also decides to pay homage to a pioneer in the techniques of distilling fresh cane wine; Father Labat (Père Labat). These quality rums, produced in line with the great agricultural rums by the Poisson distillery, have therefore been called “Père Labat rums”.
