Château de Plaisance - Savennieres 2020
Château de Plaisance is located in Rochefort-sur-Loire, in the heart of Anjou in the Loire Valley. The estate, conducted in organic farming since 1995 and biodynamic since 2008, was taken over from the Rochais family by Vanessa Cherruau in 2019. This young 32-year-old Angevin cultivates 25 hectares of vines on the terroirs of Chaume, Quarts de Chaume and Savennières. The Château de Plaisance is fully committed to the protection of the environment and biodiversity, towards the most neutral carbon footprint possible.
The Savennières cuvée is made from Chenin Blanc, the vines of which are around 35 years old, and cultivated over 3 hectares. The grapes are put in slow, cold pressing, and fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in Burgundy barrels. Malolactic fermentation is partial and the wine is aged in barrels for 12 months.
Grape variety: 100% Chenin Blanc
