Gordon & MacPhail is an independent bottler of Scottish whisky and owner of Benromach Distillery, famous for its richly diverse range of bottlings from some of the most notable distilleries in Scotland. The business was founded in 1895 as a grocer and wine and spirit merchant in Elgin in the northeast of Scotland. In 1915, former apprentice John Urquhart, took over full control of the business. More than a century later, Gordon & MacPhail remains a family business.
The Imperial Distillery was a producer of Single Malt whisky located in Carron, Speyside that operated sporadically between 1897 and 1998. Imperial was mothballed and reopened several times in its hundred-year history. It was demolished in 2013 and a new distillery, Dalmunach, established on the site in 2015. This edition was aged for 24 years in a refill Sherry hogshead from a Single Cask (#5602). It was bottled on the 14th of May 2021 and produced 215 bottles.
