HATOZAKI - Pure Malt - 46%
Hatozaki is a brand of Japanese whiskey, created by the Kaikyō distillery . Kaikyō Distillery is located in the Hyogo region, facing the Seto Inland Sea. There, summers are hot and humid with temperatures approaching 39°C, winters are mild and dry, and sea winds blow day and night in front of the distillery. These are optimal conditions for aging whiskey and developing characteristic aromas. The Yonezawa family settled in Akashi City in 1856. After mastering the art of brewing sake, the family began distilling in 1917. A century later, Kimio Yonezawa, the master blender, honors his legacy. Thanks to methodical learning and exchanges with other Master Distillers and Blenders, notably based in Scotland, Kimio Yonezawa participates in the growing development of Japanese whisky.
Hatozaki Pure Malt is made entirely of malt aged in ex-Japanese Bourbon, Sherry and Mizunara casks from the forests of Hokkaido and Tohuku. It is assembled from Single Malt of 5 to 6 years, produced in small batches of less than 20 barrels.
