Château de Miraval - Rosé - Jeroboam 2021
Château Miraval is located in Correns, in Provence . The estate produced Vins de Pays until the 1990s, when viticulture was modernized. For many years, the castle housed the recording studio Miraval founded by the French jazz pianist Jacques Loussier where Pink Floyd and Sting recorded songs. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie acquired the estate in 2009. Marc Perrin (of Château de Beaucastel) was put in charge of looking after the Château de Miraval wine estate. This participation has been formalized since 2011 in the form of an equal partnership. Every month, before their separation, the couple of actors inquired with Marc Perrin about their technical choices, tasted the estate's wines and took an interest in the blends of the different cuvées. In October 2021, Angelina Jolie sold her shares to a Luxembourg-based spirits manufacturer controlled by Russian oligarch Louri Shefler. The 600-hectare property includes a pine forest, an olive grove and the 30-hectare wine estate spread over two municipalities: Correns (in the Côtes-de-Provence appellation) and Châteauvert (in the Coteaux-Varois-en-Provence appellation).
Miraval is a blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Rolle and Syrah . Cinsault, Grenache and Rolle are pressed directly while Syrah is vinified by bleeding. Vinification is carried out in stainless steel vats (95%) and in barrels (5%) with stirring of the lees.
