MIDLETON - Redbreast 27 ans - Single Pot Still - Ruby Port Casks - Batch 2 - 53.50%
The Midleton distilleries complex is situated in Midleton, County Cork, Ireland. It is owned by Irish Distillers, a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard. Several whiskeys are produced on site, including Jameson, Tullamore Dew, or Redbreast to name a few.Redbreast was originally bottled by Gilbey's, a Dublin spirits merchant using distillate sourced from Jameson's Bow Street Distillery. In 1985, Gilbey's ceased production of Redbreast. It entered into an agreement to sell the brand to Irish Distillers in 1986, and the brand was subsequently relaunched in 1991 after several years of absence from the market.Redbreast is one of a handful of single pot still whiskeys in existence today; it is a style of Irish whiskey made by a single distillery from a mixed mash of malted and unmalted barley distilled in a pot still.
Redbreast 27-Year-Old is the oldest permanent release in the Redbreast range. It is made exclusively of Pot Still whiskeys which have been triple distilled, matured in the finest Bourbon, Sherry and Ruby Port casks.
