Domaine Bernard GRIPA - Les Pins - Saint Peray 2020
Domaine Bernard Gripa is located in Mauves, in the north of the Rhône Valley . The estate was created in 1974 and has been run since 2001 by his son Fabrice Gripa . It produces wines in the Saint-Péray and Saint-Joseph appellations. The vineyard extends over a little less than 20 hectares on granite and limestone soils. The estate is run with respect for the environment and highlighting the terroir. In the cellar, he mainly uses 228-litre Burgundy barrels or 600-litre casks. The wines are aged in oak for between 8 and 12 months depending on the vintage.
Les Pins is made from young vines from Marsanne (around 80%) and Roussanne . The estate's Saint-Péray plots are located in the Les Putiers sector, whose soil is made up of alluvium and Tournon Granite. The grapes are delicately pressed and the juice decanted by gravity. Part of the wine is aged on fine lees in barrels (80%) and the rest in vats.
