Edition Spirits is an independent bottling company founded by brothers Scott and Andrew Laing in Glasgow . They are the sons of Stewart Laing; Director of Hunter Laing and former founder of Douglas Laing. Scott and Andrew joined their father Stewart at Hunter Laing when he separated from Douglas Laing in 2013. Edition Spirits became an operating arm of Hunter Laing and the First Editions series was moved to join his portfolio. Although they specialize in Blended and Single Malt whiskies, over the years they have had the good fortune to acquire stocks of aged rums from countries such as Guyana and Jamaica.

In the 17th and 18th centuries, the islanders called their locally made distillates Kill Devil. While today many old superstitions have died out, the Caribbean is still the source of many exotic rums. The Kill Devil series showcases the quality and diversity of rum from the Caribbean and beyond. Single Casks are specially selected to be shipped to Scotland, and carefully and traditionally hand-bottled.

This rum was distilled in October 2006 at the Foursquare distillery in Barbados. It was aged 15 years and 262 bottles were produced.
