Champagne A. Bergère is located in Epernay, in Champagne . The brand was founded by Albert Bergère in 1949, when he began to produce his Champagne using the family vineyards. His son André, accompanied by his wife Brigitte Martin, took over the management of the estate and expanded the vineyard significantly: 14 terroirs on the Côte des Blancs. Thus, the grape supplies from renowned villages and prestigious terroirs complement the harvests each year, offering a wide range of possibilities in the blends.
After the manual harvest, the grapes are pressed and alcoholic fermentation begins after clarification. In January, the team meets for the blends of different grape varieties, vintages or years. The wines created are bottled accompanied by the liqueur de tirage which allows the foaming. During this second fermentation, the bottles are placed in the cellar for an average of 3 to 4 years. At the end of the aging, the bottles are disgorged and then dosed with the liqueur d'expédition which defines the dosage. The bottles then return to the cellar for at least 3 months before being marketed.
This Blanc de Blancs is made from Chardonnay whose vines are grown on the limestone terroirs of the Grands Crus villages of Chouilly, Cramant, Avize, Oger and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The base of the wine comes from the 2021 vintage . Vinification and aging on lees are carried out partially in 228-liter barrels. The wine was disgorged in February 2024 with an Extra-Brut dosage of 3 g/L .
