TAYLOR'S - Port - Golden Age - Tawny 50 years old
The Maison de Porto Taylor’s is located in Vila Nova de Gaia, on the south bank of the Douro River, opposite the city of Porto, Portugal . It was founded by Job Bearsley in 1692 and is one of the oldest founding houses in Port. The company today is run by the Yeatman family , who have been involved in the business for over 200 years. The wines are produced from grapes mainly sourced from vineyards located in the Douro Valley, where the climate and soil are ideal for the production of Port wines. Taylor's is also involved in the production of still wines in the Douro region and also has vineyards in other wine regions of Portugal, including the Alentejo region.
This 50-year-old Port comes from the eastern part of the Douro, where the most beautiful vineyards are found, producing the wines that can be kept the longest. Before being blended, the individual wines are matured in pre-fermented barrels set aside by Taylor's expert team of coopers. After half a century of aging in wood, this outstanding wine is at its peak: it has reached its “golden age”.
