Domaine Uchida is located in the town of Cussac , in the Haut-Médoc of Bordeaux . Its owner, Osamu Uchida , is from Hiroshima, Japan . As a teenager, he was predestined for a sporting career in endurance racing but decided to change horizons and moved to Tokyo, where he met a great lover of German wines. In 1999, he moved to Bordeaux to work in wine and went on to visit hundreds of wine estates from all over France. He deepened his knowledge by obtaining a viti-oeno baccalaureate and practical training at Domaine de Chevalier and Château Larrivet Haut-Brion. In 2006, he returned to work in Japan as a wine importer, without forgetting his dream of becoming a winegrower. This is how 4 years later, he returned to the Bordeaux region and became a tourist guide before buying his first 60 ares of vines. Today, Osamu Uchida owns 2 hectares in conversion to organic and biodynamic farming . His production is minimal, almost confidential. In his garage, he vinifies with concentration, precision and an obsessive attention to detail.
