Jack Daniel's - Bonded - 50%
Jack Daniel's is a brand of whiskey from Tennessee and the best-selling American whiskey in the world. It is produced in Lynchburg, Tennessee , by the Jack Daniel Distillery, which has been owned by the Brown-Forman Corporation since 1956. Jack Daniel's home county of Moore is a "dry county" (although it is legal to distill the product in the county, it is illegal to buy it there), so the product is not available for purchase in stores or restaurants within the county. The product meets regulatory criteria for classification as a Straight Bourbon, although the company disavows this classification. It markets the spirit simply as Tennessee Whiskey rather than Tennessee Bourbon.
"Bottled-in-Bond" is a legal designation that applies to whiskeys produced in the United States. It was created by the federal government in 1897 to protect consumers against fake whiskeys that were circulating at the time. The whiskey must be the product of a single distillery and a single distillation season. It must be aged for at least 4 years in new, charred oak barrels, and bottled at 50% (100 proof).
