Château Enclos Haut Mazeyres 2018
Château Enclos Haut Mazeyres is located in Libourne, in the Pomerol appellation on the right bank of Bordeaux . The wine property has been passed down from woman to woman since 1830 and today belongs to Marianne de Pedro . The estate extends over more than 9 hectares in one piece where the vines are 40 to 60 years old. Since 2019, the vineyard has been certified as High Environmental Value . Around sixty trees were planted on the property to shelter birds; for biodiversity but also since birds eat certain vine pests, which makes it possible to reduce vineyard treatments.
The Enclos Haut Mazeyres 2018 is made from Merlot , grown on a terroir of gravel, clay and iron dross, and whose vines vary in age from 40 to 50 years. The harvest is manual, at maturity and by plot. Vinification is carried out in cement vats , then the wine is aged for 18 to 24 months in Allier oak barrels .
